Jaclyn Vary honored for community service by Ohio State Bar Foundation

COLUMBUS, OH (APRIL 8, 2020) – The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) has awarded Jaclyn Vary with its District 12 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under.
Vary is a partner at Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP where her practice areas include estate and succession planning, tax law, charitable giving, and probate litigation. Vary develops customized estate plans for clients, has extensive experience drafting private settlement agreements and declaratory judgment action, and is well-versed on many different aspects of charitable planning through her work representing nonprofits.
“The OSBF is proud to honor Jaclyn with its Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and under,” said OSBF Executive Director Lori Keating. “Through her leadership with multiple organizations, she is representing her fellow citizens, giving her time, and helping to make her community a better place for its residents.”
Vary is a 2020 Class Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, a national organization working to build a more open and diverse legal profession. She serves as a board member and Membership Committee Chair for the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland. Vary is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and Geauga County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Committee and Reach Out for Nonprofit Organizations Committee.
In 2019, Vary was selected by the Cleveland Leadership Center to be in the Cleveland Bridge Builders program, which gives participants the chance to gain knowledge and skills to create meaningful change in the community through team-based, hands-on learning.
OSBF’s District Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under is given to an attorney in each of the Ohio State Bar Association’s 18 districts. Recipients are chosen by OSBF’s Awards Committee based on volunteer service and involvement with the community.
